Special Programs for Special Kids

I was priveleged to work with some amazing kids this past week. Special Programs for Special Kids is a nonprofit service that helps secure services for children diagnosed with such conditions as autism, pervasive developmental disorder and cerebral palsy. It's an outgrowth of services by Pediatrics Plus, which provides physical, occupational and speech therapy for children with special needs.
Many of those services call for more money than family budgets, public funding or insurance can provide.
The Special Programs girls practice weekly with a professional dance instructor & the boys have the services of a martial arts instructor. They also have their own dance recital each year to show off the skills they have learned & earn money to help fund the program. The recital this year will be held at Arnold High School on October 4.
